Fondazione Poliambulanza, Brescia: artificial plants in the new ophthalmology ward
At the ribbon-cutting, the most frequent compliments were for the plants: “are they real?”.

The project
Every plant is crafted to perfection, convincing even to the touch. Since they need no maintenance or watering, they can be placed anywhere, including corridors and waiting rooms without natural light.
Why in healthcare
- no soil or standing water: better hygiene;
- no pollen: suitable for patients with allergies too;
- no extra workload for staff.
Another hospital example: San Giuseppe Hospital in Milan.
